Maluku's litter crisis
Today, Maluku and surrounding provinces in Indonesia face a serious litter crisis. 
Litter endangers the health and safety of residents and threatens local economies because it makes the islands less attractive for visitors. 

Green Moluccas advocates urgent attention, education initiatives and technical solutions to end this growing environmental threat.

Mission

Working as a community to ensure a clean, healthy and even more attractive Maluku.

Activities

  • promoting and organizing (beach) clean-ups
  • connecting stakeholders
  • implementing environmental education
  • providing information on innovative technical waste solution

Current action: 2017 - ​Environmental education
​School teachers are trained to be able to train their colleagues at others schools (train the trainer) on how to use the books and recreational activities included in the lesson package.

Through this program, you are supporting environmental education and informative meetings on the Central Moluccan island of Saparua (pilot project).

How to handle waste? Why is waste hazardous to health? Can you re-use waste? What is the value of waste?
